Day 14 Illustrator Tour with Dawn Phillips

We've hopped right into April. Froggie is hip hoppidie glad to jump start the month for illustrator Dawn Phillips.

How many animated frogs do you know?

"The Princess and the Frog" released in 2009 and set in 1920's in New Orleans. It's the tale of a the "Frog Prince" where you kiss him, in hopes of turning into human form. Also, the 49th animated feature in the Walt Disney Classics line and first film to be 2D animated since 2004.

Who would have guessed Kermit the Frog? Yes, he's well known for being a puppet. But, did you know he appeared in the 1985 show "Little Muppet Monsters" along with "Kermit the Frog, Private Eye" segments. Who can forget those adorable "Muppet Babies" episode, "Eight Flags Over the Nursery", which Kermit also appeared.
Another fun fact is Kermit appeared animated in a commercial for Sesame Streets 25 Greatest Hits album.

Then you have Michigan J. Frog who is an animated cartoon character in the "Looney Tunes" cartoon "One Froggy Evening" (December 31, 1955) where he's a male frog wearing a top hat, carries a cane, singing pop music, Ragtime, and other songs from the late 19th century and 20th century while dancing and doing acrobatics. Later appeared in "Another Froggy Evening" released in October 1995, and a former mascot of "WB TV Network until 2005.
